PAWPRINT PETSITTING TERMS AND CONDITIONS

“At Pawprint Petsitting we have you and your animal’s best interest at heart. We also have our petsitters’ best interests at heart.” PLEASE NOTE: The Pawprint Petsitting team will do their utmost best to take care of your pets and your property in your absence. However, animals are often quite unpredictable, and we cannot accept responsibility for any mishaps (such as, but not limited to biting, household or item damage, accidental death, etc.) or any complications arising from administering medications to your pet(s). Nor can we be liable for injury, disappearance, death, or fines for pet(s) that have or that gained access to the outdoors. Most pet sitters do not work on National Public Holidays. At Pawprint Petsitting we know that pet owners also need a break during these public holidays. However, doing pet sitting on any of the following public holidays, will carry an additional fee of R50 for the particular public holiday:
• New Years Day (1st January)
• Human Rights Day (21st March)
• Good Friday (Varies)
• Freedom Day (27th April)
• Workers Day (1st May)
• Youth Day (16th June)
• Women’s Day (8th August)
• Heritage Day (24th September)
• Day of Reconciliation (16th December)
• Christmas Day (25th December)
• Day of Goodwill (26th December)

BOOKINGS
The pet owner agrees that only a booking with the accompanying 50% deposit, will be regarded as a valid booking. Bookings will only be confirmed once funds reflect in Pawprint Petsitting account. Pawprint Petsitting reserves the right to treat bookings on a “First come, first served” basis. Pawprint Petsitting reserves the right to allocate pet sitting dates to long-term customers at its own discretion within reason, and if pet sitters are available. Pawprint Petsitting has the prerogative to accept bookings if it falls within our service area. Should the client’s address fall out of our service area and PPS decides to render services to such client, additional fees may apply.

MEET & GREET This will take place ± 7 days before your departure date to arrange for you to meet the pet sitter. This will also allow the pet sitter to determine whether they would be able to take care of your pets. Keys should be made available during this session. If you are not able to make keys available and need to arrange an additional date for key collection, (eg. The day before departure, an additional fee of R75 will be charged), unless keys are collected at the time of departure. This will only apply to Sleep Over and Stay-In.

CHANGES TO DEPARTURE OR RETURN DATE If changes are made before commencement of the pet sitting service, it should be done more than 2 days (48 hours) of departure date, otherwise refer to “late bookings”. During the pet sitting session: If any changes are made to your departure or return dates, eg. if you decide to return earlier than the agreed upon date, these changes will incur a 10% admin fee of the total amount initially quoted.

LATE BOOKINGS Bookings are required to be done at least 2 days prior to departure date in order to arrange a suitable pet sitter, do a meet
  & greet and allow for funds to be cleared. The following additional fees will be charged upon late bookings:
• Booking within 48 hours of departure will carry an additional admin fee of R100. (Once-off)

CANCELLATIONS We understand that circumstances and plans can change, however, our business depends on budgeted income (planned
  routes, public holidays, pet sitter availability, etc.)
• The following cancellation charges will apply:
• Cancellation within 2 days (48 hours) prior to departure date will carry an additional admin fee of R100. (Once-off).
  This fee will be deducted from your credit.
▪ Your 50% non-refundable deposit will be held in PPS’s account which will be credited towards your next booking.

FEES & PAYMENTS Fees should be paid via EFT only. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure a booking. Should the circumstances of the pet owner (you) change, and the pet sitting not continue, the deposit will be kept as a credit for future pet sittings. Funds should be cleared 2 days before departure date. A R17 service fee will apply per any additional services added. (Refuse bins, watering plants, etc.)
The following will be regarded as additional services:
• Picking up of droppings
• Water plans
• Handling of refuse bins
  If the pet sitter performs any of these additional services which was not quoted for initially, then it will be added to your next invoice.
  If a booking is made for 7 days or more, then you are eligible for a 5% discount on your booking amount.

If payments are not received as agreed upon, no pet sitting services will be rendered.
KEYS, REMOTES, ACCESS TAGS AND ACCESS CODES
• Please indicate if you are using a key security box and the code to the pet sitter. This should be indicated on the PCI Form*.
• Keys, REMOTES, ACCESS TAGS should be handed to the relevant pet sitter on the date of the Meet-&-Greet session. IF access codes are not
  available at the meet & greet, it should be noted on the PCI form. Specific dates & times should be added on the PCI form as to when these
  codes will be made available. Access Codes should be sent daily to the pet sitter as early as possible before the pet sitter arrives at your
  premises.
• If access cannot be obtained to your premises, no services will be rendered. ie: Telephone call / incorrect card/code , card not working
  properly, security guard.
• If this is not possible, a specific date should be scheduled for key collection. This will carry an additional charge of R100.
• We are doing preliminary checks of pet sitters’ credentials to determine that all is in order, eg. That the pet sitter’s vehicle license is still valid.
  This is a requirement for anybody who are interested to become a pet sitter, to join Pawprint Petsitting. Thus, there should not be a problem
   for a pet sitter to gain access to your premises. This will mainly apply to security estates.

MEDICATION
• Correct instructions should be provided to the pet sitter for all medication which should be administered to your pet(s).
• We take no responsibility if anything should happen to your pet due to the medicine given.
• If the pet sitter is bitten during the process of giving the medication, you will responsible for any and all medical cost of the pet sitter.
• The instructions should be noted on the PCI form.

SECURITY
• Security company contact details and alarm password(s), and/or electric fence should be indicated on the PCI Form.
• Pawprint Petsitting will try their best to ensure that your premises is safeguarded (locked and alarms activated, as per your instructions),
   however, should anything happen, during the time of the pet sitting, Pawprint Petsitting will not be held liable for any loss or damages.

HOUSEHOLD EMERGENCIES
• In case of household emergencies, the relevant contact person(s) should be indicated on the PCI Form.
• Action to be taken in case of specific occurrences.
• ICE -numbers & procedures
  Please indicate the relationship of each person for which an ICE number is given, and also if there are specific times during which they   should NOT be contacted.

HOUSE CLEANLINESS
• We expect our pet sitters to keep your premises in a neat and orderly fashion.
• Please note that our pet sitters are instructed to leave your house and premises in a neat and tidy fashion.
• Should your home/premises be untidy at you’re your departure, our pet sitters will NOT perform any house-keeping services, so please don’t   expect them to tidy up your house and premises.
• If your premises was left in a messy condition, at your return, after you have left it in a tidy fashion, please inform PPPS asap.   (admin@pawprintpetsitting.co.za)
• Damages and/or breakages which occur during the pet sitting period, will be discussed with you to find an amicable way to reimburse you
  for the loss / damage.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES
• Should the petsitter be required to remove animal droppings, an additional charge of R17/ day will be implemented.
• Please ensure that you have all the necessary equipment to remove pet waste (poop-scoops, plastic bags, small shovel, etc.)
• Any other additional services should be indicated on the PCI Form.
• Eg. Watering plants alternative days, etc. OR refuse bins to be taken out before 07h00 on Thursday mornings and returned the same evening.   Excluding feeding once a day.

UNFORESEEN EXPENSES
• Should the need arise to purchase any additional items during the period of the pet sitting session without arrangements, such as pet food,   cat litter, etc, Pawprint Petsitting will purchase these items, and retain a receipt, and the pet owner agrees to reimburse the pet sitter / Pawprint   Petsitting upon their return for said expense. This will also be charged as an additional service.

VET VISITS
• If the assigned petsitter needs to take your pet(s) to the Vet for any reason the standard AA rates will be charged. Any expenses that is   charged by the VET will be the owners responsibility, if the petsitter needs to pay for the visit, a 10% interest rate will be charged on the paid vet   amount.
• In case your pet needs to stay at the vet for a few days. During this time the pet sitter will be in contact with the Vet to enquire about the
  well-being of your pet. The pet sitter will also provide you with feedback and photos of the
  well-being of your pet. Although not directly in contact   with your pet, the pet sitter will keep you updated during this time and thus be eligible   for the full pet sitting fee as initially agreed upon.
• In case your pet needs to be admitted to the vet during the pet sitting period, detailed instructions and procedures need to be captured on   the PCI form.

PRIVACY
• Owner agrees to disclose all CCTV cameras to Pawprint Petsitting pet sitter.

MISCELLANEOUS
• Owner agrees to disclose to Pawprint Petsitting if the pet(s) who are taken care of, has any anxiety issues, or possibly eats less, or refuse(s) to   eat for the first period of the owner’s absence.
• Owners agrees to provide all items necessary to care for the animals as indicated on the PCI Form.

HOMEOWNER’S CHECKLIST
Animal Supplies
Pet owner agrees to furnish pet sitter with sufficient food supplies for the entire duration of the pet sitting period. Should the pet food not be sufficient, owner agrees to reimburse the pet sitter for the additional pet food supplies which the pet sitter purchased during the pet sitting period, upon producing receipts for the relevant food supplies.
Neighbours and Tenants
Owner agrees to inform neighbours and/or tenants (where applicable) that PPPS will perform a pet sitting service for the time as stated on the initial agreement.
Visitors / Employees
Owner agrees to disclose the visits and/presence of any other individuals on the property, such as cleaners, gardeners, contractors, or any other workmen, and whether they have their own keys, or means of access to the property. Correct instructions and arrangements are to be made before the petsitting commences to avoid confusion or conflict. This should be indicated on the PCI Form.

LIABILITY
• Pawprint Petsitting will not be liable for any injury to other parties or other property during the time of the pet sitting period.
• Pawprint Petsitting will not be held liable for any theft or damage to your property.
• Pawprint Petsitting reserve the right to deny or terminate service due to financial or safety concerns.
• Pawprint Petsitting will not perform dog walking should weather conditions become extreme, even if we have agreed to do so on the initial   contract. Your dog’s safety and wellness, as well as the wellness and safety of our pet sitter is our prior concern.
